- Will the facility be ADA compliant?
Yes, much care and planning are being considered in the renovation of the historic building to make it as fully accessible as possible so all visitors can visit, learn and enjoy.

Yes, the museum will have a theater located within it that will be used for short “loop films” for daily visitors as well as use for motion pictures and documentaries for educational purposes and other museum activities.
- What is the minimum age my child should be before they visit the museum?
The museum and its exhibits are designed for 4th grade students and above. Some of the exhibits and presentations could be disturbing for younger children.
- Is there something at the museum for younger children to do under the 4th grade?
Not really. The delicate and disturbing story and topic of the American Civil War is not recommended for most young children. Most similar museums usually agree that children in the 4th grade can start grasping and developing a basic understanding of the American Civil War. Due to the various types of weapons, items and graphic images that will be on display, good parental judgment must be considered before younger children are brought into the facility. One must understand and always be aware that this is an educational museum regarding war, violence, death & suffering.

- What kind of library will be at the museum?
The Missouri Civil War Studies Center will be a private research library and not a circulating public library. Materials therefore cannot be checked out like at traditional public libraries and in turn must be utilized at our facility. Our collections include books, manuscripts, maps, microfilm records, periodicals, photographs, films, DVDs, and CDs. The library will contain extensive resources on the Civil War in general but many of the specialized collections will focus on Missouri and the soldiers from & buried in this state. There will be ample equipment available at the library for researchers to utilize in copying or printing items and records.
